Cathy, from West Bloomfield, is a wonderful and kind woman that had composite (plastic) veneers placed on her front teeth many years ago to cover up teeth that had been badly discolored as a result of having been prescribed Tetracycline as a child. Although those first veneers were a dramatic improvement over the gray/brown discoloration from the tetracycline staining, they were very opaque and over the years the plastic had worn, stained and chipped to the point that she was again unhappy with her smile. We focused on the upper teeth and first had her visit an excellent periodontist who helped take care of her swollen and irritated gums. We then did a combination of all porcelain E-Max veneers and crowns on her 10 upper front teeth. We chose E-Max for its strength and durability (she had quite a bit of tooth wear) and chose a bright, “no-compromise” color for the uppers, assuming we will eventually do the lower teeth also to match. The restorations were done in 2 appointments and the results speak for themselves. Her “bite” is very comfortable, free of sensitivity and no adjustments have been needed since they were placed. She and I couldn’t be happier and her gums look great, too! What a difference!
